Hi All,

I am pleased to announce that Gentle.NET now works out-of-the-box with Mono!

Personally, I'd like to send a *big* congratulations and an even bigger
*thank you* to all Mono developers for your efforts in achieving this
level of .NET compatibility!

The test setup used an unmodified Gentle 1.2.0 (assemblies compiled on
Windows using .NET 1.1 and VS.NET), Mono 1.1.4 on Mac OS, and a MySQL
database backend. No modifications or recompilations were required.

For those who don't know it, Gentle is a database-independant OR-mapper
(aka persistence framework). Open-source database support includes
MySQL, PostgreSQL, Firebird and SQLite. Gentle can be downloaded from
http://sf.net/projects/gopf and you can find documentation at
http://www.mertner.com/confluence

Should there be interest in including Gentle with Mono in some form or
another, I'd be more than willing to discuss this. Gentle is currently
licensed under the LGPL.

Yours,
Morten
