[Mono-devel-list] Questions on Mono Roadmap

I have read the roadmap of Mono on http://www.go-mono.com/mono-roadmap.html. My concern is: where are the cross-platform features?

I only saw x86 and PPC support in Mono 1.0. Other architectures are only "interpreter available".

That seems not enough.

I think mono should be something different from MS implementation of .NET. The .NET Framework is changing very quickly: before the first realese of mono, it has gone from 1.0 to 1.1 and .NET Framework 2.0 will be realased before Mono 1.2 or 1.4. I doubt that we have enough resource to keep up with MS.

So I think mono should have something unique. The most obvious thing that could differentiate mono from MS.NET is crossing platform. All we have done on x86 and Linux are excellent, but not enough.

Don't just follow MS, it's dangerous. I mean if we only focus on implementing the library, we will always run after MS.
