[MonoDevelop] Monodevelop cannot open external terminal

[Pokajanje]

I'm just trying to get a "Hello, World" program running in Monodevelop. I'm
using version 4.0.12 on Ubuntu 14.04. But I'm hooped no matter what output
window I use. If I uncheck "run in external terminal" in the project
preferences, it prints the output, but can't read in any input. If I choose
to run in an external terminal, the application window appears but produces
no output, and no external terminal appears.
