Yes, +1!  Should we discuss this here, or take it to a new list? The
topic would be long term support of mono/MD build systems (and
resulting packages) for as many distributions as people would like to
contribute. Probably .deb, .rpm, Mac, and Windows. github? Anyone here
been involved in these types of build systems before?

There may also be related issues, like lending support for maintaining
documentation ,etc. There were a few weeks a while back where the
Mono/Gtk docs disappeared from the web and no one from Xamarin was
around any more to take care of business. The docs could use some
serious help in filling in missing info, as well.
