The building of Mono related libraries should be left to the distros
where it has always been. What would you suggest Mono/Monodevelop do
where there are dependency issues with one of the base packages for a
distro? Ubuntu has a system in place to add software to their repository
I don't think they are going to just add Mono because they build it and
asked nicely. The distros implement the software not the other way
around, it is not fair to compare Linux builds to Mac or Windows where
the dependencies are almost non-existent.
