[MonoDevelop] Load operation failed. The file <...> has an unknown format version (version '11.00')'.

I am trying to open a C++ Visual Studio project that was made by Visual
Studio 2010 in Monodevelop and I get the error message:
"Could not load solution <...>.sln. The file <...>.sln has an unknown format
version ('version 11.00')'."
and a second error in the same window:
Load operation failed. The file <...>.sln has an unknown format version
('version 11.00')'."
Can it not open files made with VS 2010? I thought I read on the main page
that it can.
