I will try to take up this particular part of the discussion over in Fedora land.  Something needs to be done better here but we need buy-in from Fedora or we will just piss them off.  This list is not the place for a dispute with Fedora.

Heh, I just realized that sounds oddly like taking the war on terror to Iraq. ;-)
Let's give diplomacy a try though, shall we?

practice," but doesn't actually deign to provide us with an alternative
(aside from the implicit "don't use unstable libraries").
