Now, since Banshee has got the video playback capability your
application sounds like a perfect addition to it. You could have a
look at that [1] and that [2] and I am sure you'll at least find the
way to do what you need and maybe you'll even decide that writing a
DVD ripping plugin for Banshee is easier for you and better for both
projects.
