We aren't using ISO dates for user interaction too. The date
is displayed and can be input in the current locale. In our
case (Germany) this is MM.dd.yyyy. ISO dates are used whenever
dates need to be stored or transmitted as strings (i.e. XML
files, SQL statements, ...).
