Lets put this one in the wild for a while first, and see how it plays out.

If you are often switching back and forth between device and emulator, setting
a default device is likely not for you.

The issue with your scenario is after you set the default device, you will
never see the device dialog again, so you would have to go to Tools anyways to
turn the dialog back on first.
