At what line? I see AC_PROG_CXX but not AC_CHECK_TOOL(CXX, g++, g++).
For gcc, an extra check is done besides AC_PROG_CC.

Ok, I'll try to fix it as soon as I know what the problem is (an upstream fix
for autotools would be nice too).
