[MonoTouch] Cant debug on device after 2.8 update

I am having this same problem. For me I choose iPhone|Debug and the Debug is disabled in the run menu. I first noticed it after upgrading to 2.8.

does your active profile include debugging (ie, either iPhone|Debug or iPhoneSimulator|Debug)?
