[MonoTouch] MonoTouch and Xcode 4.2 "cannot open xcode project"

Just upgraded to Xcode 4.2 and iOS5 GM. MD 2.8b3 and MT 4.9.6

I was interested in seeing the Xcode and MD integration, unfortunately every
time I open a XIB file, Xcode complains that the project file in
~/obj/Xcode/0/project.xcodeproj cannot be opened because the project file
cannot be parsed.

Looking in the directory there appears to be all my resources and classes
recreated as .h and .m

The xcodeproj when "viewing contents" appears to house 1 file,
project.pbxproj and another package project.xcworkspace which contains
contents.workspace

Anyone any ideas?
