[MonoDevelop] UI Customization

Hi all,

I'm new to the list, I've been using Visual Studio for some time with Unity, but lately have tried to push myself towards GNU licensed software.

I have an initial question. In MonoDevelop is it possible (apart from changing code) to remove or hide the huge/slightly-wasteful bar below the main menu. Ideally I'd like the full screen dedicated to source code, but that bar is taking up a lot of screen real-estate (I often develop from laptops, etc).

If it is  a source code change, then I am prepared to help out where I can. Would be nice to have an option to hide the main menu too if possible.
