[MonoDevelop] MonoDevelop - What is the check box in the After column

Hi,

I am new to using the signal in GTK. 

When I add a signal handler via the IDE, for example Button Clicked, I
notice that there is a check box in the 'After' column which is default to
empty (I guess meaning unchecked).

Would someone be kind enough to give me some explanation and guidance in how
to use that feature?
