If you've ideas where to put it in I would like to hear about it - atm 
we don't have really a place for it :/

In 3.0 it replaced the vertical scrollbar - but we wanted to support the 
overlay scrollbars on os x and that feature broke this idea.
We need to rethink the source analysis user interface. It was 
implemented some years ago and wasn't touched since then.
(Howver code actions/issues etc. were added over the years and bugs 
fixed - but the user interface stayed the same)
