Thanks for the reply! It seems like MD is doing what I want, but perhaps
there is something about the MonoMac project I'm working on that's making it
fail somehow.

However, broadly speaking, what you describe does sound appealing. I hadn't
noticed this difference but, personally, as someone who uses MD and VS about
equally, the closer the semantics of things like this between the two
platforms, the better!
