[MonoDevelop] MonoDevelop IDE's Assemblies

Hi, I recently started trying out the MonoDevelop IDE so I could produce
applications which function on GNU/Linux and Windows. I was taught VB.NET
(NET 3.5) recently and I installed successfully MonoDevelop IDE and it's
assemblies. When I first started MonoDevelop and created a new solution for
a VB.NET project, it gave me an error that Mono didn't support VB.NET for
.NET 4.0. I changed it to use .NET 3.5 but my assemblies for *-sharp are for
only .NET 4.0. Is there a way I could use them for .NET 3.5 and not 4.0? I
could not find a related post or fix. Thanks in advance.
