[MonoDevelop] what is version-check for?

Hi everyone,

I'm wondering what the file "version-check" is for? I see that Makefile 
use it, but if I try to execute it manually it always quit with the message:

*** [md-addins] git clone git at github.com:xamarin/md-addins.git
Clone to 'md-addins'...
ERROR: Repository not found.
fatal: The remote end hung up unexpectedly

I tried to visit the github url manually, but it also was a 404. I mean, 
you updated that file a lot in the few weeks, so how do I get it to work?
