[MonoDevelop] want to work on some refactoring TODOs

Hi,

If you are working on this sort of thing I'd highly recommend you base all
your work on the 'newresolver' branch in the MonoDevelop git repository.
This branch contains a completely different type system which will replace
the current one in MonoDevelop once it stabilises a bit more. As such, any
work based on the current type system will be wasted effort.
