[MonoDevelop] can't install monodevelop on mac os x 10.5.8

I'm trying to install MonoDevelop on my Macbook so I can do some bug fixing
of my ASP.NET stuff while my PC is being repaired. I am fairly new to Mac OS
X. I have installed X11 and the Mono Framework. But when I try to install
MonoDevelop I get this error message:

You cannot use this version of the application MonoDevelop with this version
of Mac OS X.

Can anyone shed some light on this for me, please?
