The fact is that, the same build of MD in Windows works fine. I mean, if I go
and create a new GTK# project on MD 2.8.1 on windows everything's fine. If I
go to "References"->"Edit references" on that project the gdk, glib, glade,
gtk etc. all appear checked and they are available through the "All" and
"Packages" tabs in the new references dialog for 2.8
Just for the record, the build of windows that I tried is the official on
the website.
However, the same version of MD (2.8.1), built from source on ubuntu with
all dependencies to build it available, does not allow me to select those
DLLs. Actually, I'm pretty sure that in the "All" and "Packages" tabs for
this linux build there are like 20 DLLs available at most (base mono
libraries) which makes me think that there's something wrong maybe with
either the way I built it or pkg-config because I'm pretty sure that there
are libraries missing there.
I did the usual /./configure --prefix=/usr/
I'd really love to hear from anyone who has any guidance on this since we
are doing an application that will target GTK# for the desktop as well as
mobile with monotouch/monodroid but in order to take full advantage of the
features in mono mobile technologies we need the newest MD available so our
workstations with ubuntu are lack behind since they shipped 2.6. and that is
the reason we're not sticking to the shipped version.
Thanks in advance guys!
