Hi Angel

Sorry to hear that you're having problems here - Monodevelop is great
but this part of it does seem to be a minefield!

I had similar problems when I began and have narrowed down my target
packages to be installable/buildable on Debian machines (Ubuntu flavour)
using the Debian (.deb) package. Once you've figured out the necessary
steps, this does work very well as you can use the various package
managers (GDebi, etc) to install, remove and upgrade your software. I've
attached a short (!) document that I wrote as an aide memoire to the
process that I cobbled together for this. I'm guessing that it won't be
too different for Linux, so if you do succeed in this, you're welcome to
modify the document and hopefully repost it.

On a similar note, if anyone else has working experience of creating
installable packages from Monodevelop for Windows platforms, any
pointers appreciated...

All the best, Derek
