[MonoDevelop] MonoDevelop does not start on Mint

HI all ;o)
Using "Software Manager" , I installed MonoDevelop 2.2
The problem is it does not want to start at all. It stays forever on the
splash screen.
CPU usage goes to 100%
I tried waiting but nothing happened, just a splash screen and 100% CPU.
I use (the latest) Mint, "out-of-the-box". The only additions besides
MonoDevelop are what update manager suggested and I dutifully obliged.
If it matters machine is laptop Dell Inspiron 6000, 512MB RAM, plenty of HD
free space.
Any idea anyone ?
Many thanks: DBJDBJ

Subject: Re: [MonoDevelop] Hello MonoDevelop World
Hi Dusan,
I installed MonoDevelop from the Ubuntu 10.04 repositories for a
friend and everything from the debugger to the gtk# libraries worked
perfectly fine. The apt policy shows that MonoDevelop version 2.2.1 is
available.
I've been using MD for a year now, and the core product of our startup
is being built using Mono and GTK#, and except for a few small issues
(since we are using the SVN build), it seems to be remarkably stable
and usable. I will be happy to point you to our codebase if you would
like.
Thanks,
Anirudh
