[MonoDevelop] Monodevelop Linux, trouble with the code generator

Hi! 

I'm new to the MonoDevelop and like to IDE a lot. However, I read
somewhere about the possibility of creating getters and setters with the
code generator feature, but when I try to open up the window (right
click->show code generator window / alt-insert), nothing happens. Could
someone help me out? I've tried searching for clues to why this is not
working, but couldn't figure it out. Also other neat tricks (general
Linux or MonoDevelop) would be greatly appreciated. 

I'm using MonoDevelop 2.4 and Ubuntu 10.04 LTS if that's of any
relevance.
