[MonoDevelop] running ./configure on Kubuntu

Hello,

     ./configure ultimately fails:

vasili at Komputer:~/monodevelop$ ./configure

configure: error: You need to install msgfmt from intltool

I tried to download msgfmt with ubuntu's apt-get(package manager) to no
avail. Can anybody help?
