I understand that what you say goes, but since this is a public
mailing list I feel free to discuss.

I don't see any "problem."  Be careful not to confuse "a problem that
absolutely sucks" with "I'd like this instead."  What sucks for you is
useful for others, and vice-versa.

Looking at <http://www.bombaydigital.com/articles/2007/10/29/1/xcode-error-bubbles.png>,
I can definitely say that the first thing I will do if/when this
feature is introduced is turn it off.  It's ugly and it breaks the
code flow (and hence my mental processes too).

The error pad can certainly be improved.  It would be nice if it could
fit more data into the window, but part of that I'm sure is do to the
way that most GTK+ themes over-pad damn near everything.  Anyway,
that's a separate rant...
