[MonoDevelop] MonoDevelop 1.9 on Fedora 10 - No UI?

ok... not sure if i'm missing something or thinking of something wrong, but
here's what's happening.

I created a new solution.  It made the global and default files.  when i
open the default file, i get something.  the editor's just blank.  there's a
black bar near the top, but that's it.  i can type in the area but the text
doesn't display.  if i save it i can see the actual change in the file, but
nothing in mono.  what gives?  this is on fedora 10.
