Sorry, a how-to is kinda difficult for me to do with no Mac
development experience at all (and no Mac either, for that matter)

You may have more luck asking on the Mono OS X mailing list.

I'd love to get things to the point that we can generate a single
OS-agnostic binary distribution. I'm already pushing frequent MD trunk
builds via the build service for SUSE variants...
