Well, GTK# is a .NET library, I assume it is written in C#, but it could be
written in some other .NET language, and regardless of which language it was
written in, it can be used with any .NET language like C#, VisualBasic.NET,
Boo, etc.

I'd say C# is more of a Java "copy" (which was based on C++).
