[MonoDevelop] Asp.net addin problem

You can edit the manifest to point to the XPI file, no matter where it
is. You can of course "sudo make install" in just the
Extras/AspNetEdit/chrome/ folder, and it will install only the XPI and
the manifest. It won't interfere with your stable MD installation.

I'm trying to find a way around this necessity, but Mozilla can be
hard to work with...
