Some of the framework for help is in place, someone just needs to hook 
it up and put the content in whatever format yelp uses.
I assume there is lots of information about this on the gnome site.  
Another option is too put simple explanations of all the major
features on the wiki.  http://macromates.com/textmate/manual/ is a 
pretty good example to follow.
