One thing to keep in mind is at this point zac's work on MD itself is
basically useless (no offense zac, your dependency work is solid), as he
was porting from a snapshot of 0.5.1 I believe, which is like 16 months
old at this point.

I would recommend any serious attempt be attemped from a SVN snapshot,
and merged *frequently* with head.
