[Mono-osx] why Mono.framework instead of Mono-version.framework

My OpenTK OSX code all very recently stopped working. I don't know why yet,
but I suspect it was Xamarin auto-updating me to Mono 3.12.0.

I would like to install Mono 3.10.0 to test, and see if things work by
backreving..

In the process, I have run into the following problems:

(a) I don't see any older installers for mono on go-mono.com. How do I find
the OSX installer for Mono 3.10.0?

(b) Why does the current version of Mono install itself into the global
path Mono.framework, instead of something like Mono-3.12.0.framework?

My stuff was previously working fine, it's super annoying to have these
auto-updaters blowing away an older mono and breaking a perfectly working
set of apps on my machine.
