That worked just as you described. THANK YOU for your help!

If anyone is reading this later and following the same steps, I should point
out one little type-o on step 7.

As written: 7. type: sudo ./monounistall.sh
Corrected:  7. type: sudo ./monouninstall.sh

There was a missing "n". I hate to correct you, Tomas, given that you just
helped me, but I would also hate to see anyone else have a problem down the
road. Fortunately, it was noticed soon after the command got rejected.
