[Mono-osx] multi-threading applications do not work

I'm developing a multi processor application, and it works very well on
linux, but it does not work properly on mac os x 10.5.  The parallel threads
starts but the execution is very very slow, say 1000 times slower than when
I try to use single a thread.  This happen both with mono 1.9.1 and with the
daily version 20-06-08.

There is some known issue or work around for threading on the macs ?
