I found MonoDevelop utterly unusable on OS X. It's slow, buggy, and 
crashes. There's supposed to be a Cocoa#/C# Xcode plugin for 2.4/2.5 but 
  after installing I couldn't get it to work right either. It seems as 
though OS X has been an afterthought for Mono which is too bad because 
lots of people want to use it to port .NET apps.

It may work on 10.4/PPC machines better. I am using an Intel MacBook 
with 10.5.3.
