[Mono-osx] Mod_mono & my document root

OK... total beginner here, for the record. I can edit my httpd.conf  
file to create any number of aliases to send 127.0.0.1/whatever to  
various applications... but what do I do when I want an application  
served at the DocumentRoot level? Is this where virtual hosts come in  
to play (I know nothing of how those work, and have only a very basic  
sense of what they do)? Just to make my goals clear: down the line, I  
want to set up one application at the root level of a TLD and then  
have another application sitting at mydomain.com/updater.
