[Mono-list] Installing mono to cygwin

I am curious - why would you want to run mono on cygwin?
Cygwin is a hack to get linux-like functionality on windows.  Mono is a hack to get .Net functionality on non-windows.  Why don't you use .Net on windows and mono everywhere else?
