By that definition, mono is not a cross platform solution. However
mono delivers what no cross platform solution can deliver - a native
application while sharing 80% (or more) of your code. You get the
performance benefits of native code (as compared to interpreted
javascript) as well as the ability to use the actual native UI
elements to create an actual native UI which conforms to the users
expectations. Those pro's outweigh the cons of having to create a UI
for each platform for the vast majority of applications.
