After you confirmed it was NVIDIA I did another check and found a release
candidate for their 260.24 development driver on this page:
http://developer.nvidia.com/object/cuda_3_2_toolkit_rc.html

I can confirm that stopped my pausing issue. It also resolved another issue
where the combination of OpenCL and raising an exception in MonoDevelop
would completely lock up the MonoDevelop process.

Hopfully there will be an actual production release of the driver soon.
