[Mono-list] 'Unix transport error' trying to run MonoDevelop 0.11

I am running mono 1.1.13.7 under SuSE Linux 10.1. I am getting the following
error when tying to run MonoDevelop 0.11 after a fresh install:

System.Runtime.Remoting.RemotingException: Unix transport error.
