After reading all of these I have decided that I am going to have to
have three versions of Mono on the disk (Linux, Windows and OSX
respectively). What I will do is install the mono releases on each
environment and then copy the structures on to the disk (Like Bill and
Jonathan suggested).

I will have several start up scripts that will determine what
environment I am on and start the correct instance of mono
accordingly. I will post back what I find out.
