[Mono-list] Important 1.1.8.1 bug fix release.

Is changes made at r46061 really in 1.1.8.1? I think there are
only a few required fixes applied to the branch (note that
1.1.8.1 is not coming from main branch). Maybe "!!!" won't be
needed here.
