[Mono-list] Installation error on Linux

I am having a problem when trying to install Mono on my linux system (Red Hat 8.0). I hope somebody can help me.
I manage to run the make, but receive this error message. Seems like some files missing. 
gcc -o monoburg ./monoburg.c parser.c
-I../../../../lib/glib-2.0.6
-I../../../../lib/glib-2.0.6/.
-I../../../../lib/glib-2.0.6/./glib   -I. 
../../../../lib/glib-2.0.6/glib/.libs/libglib-2.0.la
../../../../lib/glib-2.0.6/glib/.libs/libglib-2.0.la:
file not recognized: File
format not recognized
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make: *** [monoburg] Error 1
