Hmmm... I think I liked the original better...
The orignial just looks more ape-ish.

I don't mind the "boxing-glove" look.  In fact, I like the appearance.
However, I had trouble telling that it was a monkey the first time I saw
the logo.

I like the idea of a simple logo.

Just my 2 cents.
