Well, the reality is that 99% of .NET apps will be Windows Forms apps.

IMHO, if the above is really the goal, and developers are going to have to
use some emulation layer for Windows Forms apps, then Mono will generally
be relegated to an interesting geek environment for little command-line
utilities.  It won't help Windows developers bring their software to
Linux or Macintosh any easier than they can do it today.

If someone wants to propose a new windowing system that will work better on
multiple platforms and create the authoring tools for it, that's nice.  But
that will always be a niche option (and be much more difficult to use in
Visual Studio .NET, I'm sure) compared to the "official" .NET option.

Please don't rationalize that not implementing Windows Forms is somehow good
for Mono.  I'm bummed.
