Completely agreed.

Notice that I am not ruling out Windows.Forms, but Ximian will not
likely devote resources to this task (unless we are hired to do it)
given the size of the problem.

In the meantime, if people want cross platform GUI applications in a
high level language, I believe that the best thing they can do is use
Swing and Java.   I have been using LimeWire for quite some time, and I
am pretty happy with its cross-platformness.

Maybe I am spoiled because I use a PII/700, but it seems to run quite
fast, and have really no complains about the speed of Swing there.
