I'm unsure about the differences in purpose of mod_mono and mod_hadyn. 
What I'm poorly trying to express here is that I'd like to be able to 
write the equivalent of IIS ISAPI modules for Apache in C# on Mono. Am I 
barking up the right tree?

All helpful. There is/was also a Bitnami Mono stack but that seems to 
have vanished too.
