MonoDevelop was originally a port of the SharpDevelop codebase. The 
reference to SharpDevelop is most likely a hold over from that.

You can put aside your MS conspiricy theories.

oh and you're probably better off posting this kind of thing to the MD 
dev list rather than cross posting to mono-list and mono-dev.
